Senior Manager, Physical Security Technology

The successful candidate is expected to develop, establish, and implement strategies for implementing systems that support physical security across the Expedia enterprise to include local and remote system monitoring for multiple locations, integration of physical security systems, generating metrics from physical security systems, training programs on their use, maintenance of global systems, etc. These systems are expected to leverage technology and industry best-practice to create automated processes and support mechanisms that are sustainable, scalable and designed to fit Expedia’s culture.

As Technology Manager you will develop/design and extend corporate security systems across Expedia, and will include research and identifying industry best practices, conducting gap analysis, presenting mitigation strategies, developing budgets, creating and publishing security policies and procedures, qualifying vendors, generating metrics, and managing the deployment and operation of physical security systems and technology.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as Expedia’s Subject Matter Expert on physical security technologies

  • Own the day to day administration responsibilities of global physical security system health and maintenance

  • Research and propose new products, equipment and systems

  • Manage the evaluation, procurement, and implementation of new and emerging security hardware and software

  • Create and manage project plans within schedule, scope, and resource requirements

  • Manage projects, contractors and vendors

  • Development of integrated systems and configuration of monitoring systems that support response mechanisms.

  • Work jointly with various teams to develop and implement security systems

  • Create and maintain quality, configuration and maintenance documentation including written reports, accurate component labelling and technical diagrams

  • Document hardware and software configurations and processes and procedures for system users

  • Work with security contractors to ensure quality as-builts


You you are:

  • In-depth knowledge and management of current technologies in access control, intrusion detection, and camera systems and integration of such systems is required.

  • Customer focused and results oriented leader that possesses strong influencing skill and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.

  • 5+ years of experience in one or all of the following disciplines; corporate security management, security systems project management, and physical security infrastructure design.

  • 2+ years as a member of a physical security organization in a multi-location global corporate environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field or 5+ years of applicable experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to concisely and effectively address questions while providing subject matter expertise on policy to associates and management across diverse global sites

  • Proven ability to accurately take decisive action based on available information in a timely manner

  • Ability to travel globally 10% of the time


Experience and Qualification:

  • Experience with Lenel, Milestone, and Everbridge

  • Demonstrable experience leading security projects within fast-paced environments

  • Proven ability to work with and effectively influence facility site leaders and senior management

  • Analytical leader experienced in performance based, action and results oriented management, strong project manager and effective problem-solver

  • Applied knowledge with meeting physical security compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Corporate/Information Security

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $233,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
