Job Description

Test Engineering team is part of Sales, Client Service and Experience PD and is responsible for managing system requirements, design, development, integration, quality assurance, implementation, and maintenance of corporate applications. The team works closely with business owners of these services to deliver industry leading packaged software and customer developed solutions. The diversity of applications provides incredible opportunities to learn multiple aspects of the business while gaining experience across a wide variety of technology stacks.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of quality products.
  • Manage a team of test engineers and ensure they are fully engaged, focused, productive, and valued.
  • Manage resource allocation, work estimation and delegate duties for routine activities.
  • Lead the implementation of end-to-end test automation suite.
  • Produce operational and delivery reports such as build quality reports, defect leakage reports and productivity reports.
  • Partner with technology and business stakeholders to automate the release process.
  • Be accountable for managing QA environments, team activities and deliverables.
  • Work with technology and business stakeholders to improve the QA and Agile delivery process.
  • Set clear expectations with technology and business partners to provide transparency into QA activities, process, and deliverables.
  • Ensure that all QA deliverables meet Visa's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls requirements.
  • Coach QA team the Agile, Scrum/Lean delivery practices.
  • Create an environment, through example, where the individuals on your team feel free to communicate openly, excel with their partners, act decisively, are motivated and inspired, and collaborate well.
  • Hire, retain and invest in the career development of a high-performing team of software test engineers.
  • Engages in skills assessments and promotes professional development of staff.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience managing a team of direct reports or contractors.
• Experience working with geographically dispersed teams required.
• Test automation experience required.
• Solid understanding of Software Engineering concepts and Agile Software Development Lifecycle.
• 8 or more years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance.
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Passion to work with people and help mentor your team to reach new heights.
• Longer-term strategic thinking and staying ahead of state-of-the-art curve mindset.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions across multiple organizational levels.
• Excellent knowledge of core engineering best practice and passion to implement these across his/her team.
• Experience testing web and mobile applications built on Java and/or C#.
• Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred.
• Experience testing cloud-based applications (hosted on Azure or AWS) strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Selenium, QTP or similar automation tools.
• Strong technical competency in building and executing automated tests in Java and/or C# for both UIs and REST based services.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (ADO, Rally, JIRA, Confluence).
• Hands-on experience working with Hadoop and SQL databases.
• Familiarity with Genesys IVR and associated test tools such as Cyara.
• Experience testing software at the API level using SOA suite, SOAP UI, Postman, REST Client, etc.
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins/Bamboo.
• Experience with Test Case Management related tools (HP Quality Center/ALM, Zephyr, qTest, Testcollab, etc.)
• Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git.
• Experience in performance testing using HP Load runner, JMeter, Gatling or similar tools is plus.
