Job Summary: Raytheon – Sensors Unlimited in Princeton, NJ, is the leading developer and manufacturer of shortwave infrared (SWIR) one- and two-dimension focal plane arrays, cameras, and systems. Our products have diverse applications in military, telecommunications, process / quality control, fiber optics inspection and imaging environments. Sensors Unlimited is looking for an Electronic Design Engineer to perform a key role in the development of III-V detector test systems and camera system products. This position entails analog and digital circuit design, Read-Out IC (ROIC) characterization, prototype debug, test, and evaluation, and generation of design documentation for transfer to production. The position is for the Princeton, NJ and is a hybrid role. The selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule. Responsibilities to Anticipate: Electronics Design:
- Starting from initial design requirements, design circuitry to fully meet those specifications while simultaneously adhering to cost and schedule constraints.
- Schematic capture of designs.
- Oversee PCB layout and ensure design rules are met.
- Prototype debug, test and evaluation at the board and system level.
- ROIC Test and Characterization.
- Design validation / verification.
- Collaborate with design team in planning meetings.
- Generate design documentations for transfer of new products to Production.
- Interface with Manufacturing, Purchasing and Supply Chain personnel to provide technical support to vendors as needed.
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 5 years’ of prior work experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ of prior work experience.
- Digital and analog circuit design experience.
- Experience in hands-on bench testing and debugging.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software.
- Experience with printed circuit board and FPGA design methodology.

- Experience in circuit-level design of imaging systems, video systems, and/or instrumentation.
- Knowledge of current FPGA design software and devices.
- Basic knowledge of VHDL and/or Labview is desired.
- Ability to communicate effectively as position will entail signification interaction with other departments and customers.
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
