The MRO Buyer / Sourcing Specialist is responsible for obtaining the best quality, service and value when sourcing materials for the multiple organizations that enables cost savings, quality materials, and on-time delivery for operational excellence. Transacts purchases of goods and services including but not limited to Maintenance, Repair and Operations. Communicates with suppliers, discussing quotes and price increases, negotiating rates, and evaluating service and quality.
The role is focused on improving the performance of our Supply Chain to achieve service excellence and optimize inventory levels to support business objectives. This role will work cross-functionally within Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement and MROl suppliers in projects.
In your role as MRO Buyer, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success:
Operates the maintenance tool crib, so that it operates efficiently and within the agreed budget limits.
Assists in identifying, assessing, negotiating, awarding and managing suppliers and procurement agreements. Assesses suppliers on a global landscape to recommend best sourcing.
Transacts purchases of goods and services including but not limited to Maintenance, Repair and Operations.
Communicates with suppliers, discussing quotes and price increases, negotiating rates, and evaluating service and quality.
Maintains updated price lists, ensuring accuracy in invoicing.
Reviews purchase order acknowledgements and updates pricing and delivery dates in the ERP system. Provides quantities required during parts shortages to ensure sourcing needs are addressed.
Conducts purchasing activities aligned with the supply chain philosophy and strategy, executing and supporting sourcing projects through selected and approved suppliers.
Recognizes, understands and addresses sourcing problems in a proactive manner. Meets with suppliers to understand and resolve issues in a timely manner, reducing impact on operations and sourcing needs.
Collaborates with operations, materials and procurement teams to optimize total value and complete work to support organizational goals. Communicates and completes work, ensuring information, quoting and sourcing is completed with suppliers.
Controls inventory of MRO materials
Provides information to determine status of current orders and to forecast needs for future orders.
Compiles records of amount, type, and value of material or stock on hand.
Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock.
Responsible for inventory levels, inventory positioning, and planned production and sales forecasts.
Reconciles discrepancies in inventories.
Coordinates with traffic, production planning, and warehouse personnel to ensure appropriate routing, scheduling, and storing of goods.
Oversee that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures.
Furnish reports as needed to forecast estimates and schedules related to inventory, distribution, transportation, and/or production.
Support, assist, and complete analyses; analyze information for accuracy and completeness.
Work with other functions to identify opportunities to improve the process effectiveness and improvement plan.
Perform various activities to backup and maintain the flow of work in the department. Ensure staff is focused on process improvement.
Develop, recommend, and coordinate the implementation of new procedures.
Proactively communicate supply chain issues and provide alternatives.
Maintain high levels of communication within the team.
Partner with Operations to achieve production goals.
Actively participate in training to expand technical skills and improve services provided.
Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Supply Chain, Materials and Logistics, Engineering or related preferred.
Experience:
+3 years experience in tool crib operation.
0-3 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
0-3 years of material planning in a manufacturing environment
0-3 years working with suppliers including price negotiations, RFQ’s and cost reduction initiatives
0-3 years analyzing quotes and conducting value analysis for strategic sourcing decisions
0-3 years recommending and implementing continuous improvements in sourcing preferred
Knowledge of purchasing techniques and logistical supply chain
Other:
Proven Microsoft Excel & Word proficiency
Demonstrated professional experience with WMS/ERP systems (Oracle etc.)
Well-developed written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Bi-lingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred
