Job Summary:

The role of the Engineering Manager is to provide functional management support along with program management support for the Ft. Campbell Depot including but not limited to Q2, Q29 and others. The candidate will be responsible for 5 - 8 Engineers report directly to them and provide training, setting up goals, provide mid-year and end of the year feedback, timecard approval and other managerial duties. This role will be based out of Ft. Campbell.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Develop the team through career discussions and training; Approve team timecards and Expense Statements. 
  • Attract, develop, and retain talent to ensure that people with the right skills and motivation are in the appropriate place.
  • Engage management, staff, and technicians: Create a work environment in which employees are compelled to commit to the organizational values and its bottom line. Through effective coaching and mentoring, promote team building, and develop an organization responsive to program requirements and changes in workforce.
  • Liaison with departmental leaders and other program staff to ensure all systems / sub-systems are appropriately monitored and supported, with necessary changes defined and/or developed to meet user requirements.  
  • Responsibilities also include proposal support, coordinating program staffing needs and reductions, and interviewing applicants.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other professionals within Engineering.
  • Tasked to define clear operational delivery schedules, priorities, and goals for the Ft. Campbell Depot support; lead, collaborate with and influence functional support managers to allow for continuous production flow.
  • Will have significant dealings with both internal Raytheon customers as well as external customers such as U.S Navy, Air Force and FMS, DCMA Quality and Program Management from our supported programs. 
  • Other responsibilities include oversight of Ft. Campbell Depot operational improvements, optimal production output, operational cost reductions, requirements compliance, strategy and safety, cost, budgets (Direct/Indirect), proposals, security.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience in Engineering and project-engineering management.
  • Prior experience managing a team.
  • Field engineering experience with EO/IR systems (Q2 System); experience with the Systems Engineering and the Systems reliability of AN/ZSQ-2 electro-optical sensor system.
  • Prior experience in the generation of BOEs and resource planning in anticipation of future contract awards.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, including ability to produce technical documentation, specifications, and the desire to learn new technologies and tools.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
