Job Summary:

Our Digital Technology (DT) organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support RMD’s IT infrastructures around the world. System Administrators collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • You will provide System Administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux (Primary OS) environment. 

  • The selected individual should have a comfortable understanding or knowledge Windows fundamentals to include bash scripting, patching, and security hardening. 

  • You should be willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. 

  • You will use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS)..  

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.  Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours, may require less than 10% travel to other local MA locations, or other US RMD Sites as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or in lieu of a bachelor’s degree should typically have 6 years of prior relevant experience, or an associate degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience is typically acceptable.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Experience with Windows Operating Systems (OS).

  • Experience with PC and/or Server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Ability to obtain required Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of hire date.

  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, VDI, and ESX virtual computing methods.

  • Experience with bash scripting (Perl is also useful).

  • Experience with security hardening of Linux systems.

  • Experience with Red Hat Ansible, Satellite.

  • Experience with NetApp data storage and data backup technologies.

  • Experience with Splunk, Nessus, Monitoring Tools.

  • An Active US Secret Security Clearance is strongly preferred.

  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Sec+ CE or equivalent certification and an OS Certification.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
