The Moss Point Production Facility is seeking a Mission Assurance Manager 3 to lead the on-site Quality team. This position will report to the Director of Mission Assurance for Remote sites.
As a senior manager, this leader will enable high-performing teams and will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and reporting on the health and quality of products and services. The position requires the manager to act as a thought leader and requires a candidate with a strong leadership presence and decision-making skills with the ability to lead in an environment of ambiguity and continuous change.
The position requires a solution-based orientation while maintaining unwavering ethics and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers. The candidate must drive and implement industry practices and strategies to improve quality, cost, schedule, and technical performance.
The candidate will have the ability to integrate, engage, and lead a Quality team to perform at a top level, while driving improvement in team dynamics. The candidate will be expected to drive quality processes throughout the entire organization along with leveraging their experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to drive continuous improvement of business processes and key elements of mission assurance, including risk management, to optimize performance and value of program deliverables. The candidate will be required to have very strong collaboration skills, partnering across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) / disciplines/functions (e.g. Engineering, Manufacturing, Contracts, Program Office).
The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of developing and implementing quality best practices across the Program Lifecycle, along with a broad knowledge of end-to-end program lifecycles in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment, and hands-on experience managing the quality processes in every phase of a technical program from proposal activities through product delivery and site installations of systems.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for leadership of the Quality Assurance organization for the Moss Point site.
    • Oversee issue identification through robust data analysis of failures on the production floor. Manage corrective actions through implementation and verification of effectiveness by working cross-functionally across teams.
    • Manage the QE/QA/QI team that conducts audits and reviews to ensure process and contract compliance across all organizations. Subsequently, ensure root cause and corrective action implementation for any non-compliance.
    • Ensure that QE/QI team facilitates relationships between Engineering and Manufacturing to communicate Design Engineering impacts on Manufacturing producibility, testability, supportability, inspectability, and affordability.
    • Support business proposals, program start-up, quality planning, and monitor and report on adherence to quality standards during program execution.
    • Set the quality strategy to meet customers' expectations and regularly communicate program quality status both internally and externally through data-driven, statistically process-controlled metrics.
  • Act as liaison with on-site Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) representatives regarding product quality, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Leverage metrics and customer & and employee feedback to assess program performance and risk identification. Determine appropriate resource allocation to ensure mission success.
  • Promote professional development of the QE/QA workforce and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear assignments, help employees connect their efforts to the bigger picture, create an inclusive work environment characterized by mutual respect and the valuing of differences, and build a culture that motivates employees to their highest levels of performance.
  • Influences employee development with a focus on strong succession planning and strategic leadership movement, and partners to build the leadership depth.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of seven (9) + years of relevant work experience OR a master's degree with five (7) + years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of three (3) + years of leadership experience
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems
  • Ability to communicate, manage, and achieve Moss Point and NGAS sector tactical and strategic goals.
  • Experience with problem-solving techniques to determine Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Experience in disciplines such as mission assurance, quality, program management, engineering and/or manufacturing.
  • Personnel management experience (IPT leadership or direct-line management)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply strong analytical skills.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NG QMS familiarity (Principles and Operating Practices, ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer FAR & DFAR flow-downs)
  • Experience with customer interactions, including DCMA.
  • Financial planning, budgeting, and earned value experience for both proposals and program execution.
  • Defense Industry experience as a Program or Project Manager, Quality Manager, Engineering Manager, or Manufacturing Manager
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification to drive continuous improvement.
  • Agile methodology experience or training
Salary Range: $141,900 - $212,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
