Job Description

The Product Reliability Engineering Team seeks an experienced IT professional to join us as a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer. The Product Reliability Team prides itself in keeping the applications and systems of Visa up and running to cater to the 24*7 needs of the business. These systems are truly the backbone of our business and process millions of transactions daily for some of the most prestigious companies in the US.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform day-to-day site reliability engineering functions including Maintenance and incident resolution for all HP Non-stop Debit applications, products, and services – including debit, prepaid and risk lines of business.

  • Work closely with service partners such as product development, Tandem engineering teams to seamlessly implement the innovative solutions to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency. 

  • Assist in automating the routine tasks and processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce human errors. 

  • Actively participate in troubleshooting activities and SWAT calls and help provide meaningful data insights that can drive investigation towards swift resolution. 

  • Assist in building comprehensive and robust documentation repositories that can facilitate knowledge transfer among DPS Coverage and DPS Operations peers. 

  • Implement innovative GenAI and machine learning trends to continuously optimize the application reliability and efficiency.   

  • Asist in implementing the modern visa observability solutions such as Anomaly detection, operations intelligent platform (OIP), Fault Isolation tool (FIT) across all DPS products. 

  • Work in 12 hours shift and participate in on-call roaster to support business 24x7x365.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• 3-5 years of experience supporting HP Non-Stop Tandem systems and applications running on them.
• 3-5 years of experience with payments applications such as Connex Advantage or ACI Base24.
• Working knowledge of SQL and ability to write complex queries (preferred SQL/MP or SQL/MX).
• Expertise in scripting languages such as – TAL, C or TACL.
• Experience with Golden Gate or similar data replication product desired.
• Experience with ISO 8583 messaging, ATM driving, or POS transactions would be well suited.
• Candidate should be comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical peer groups, including Account Management, Client Services, and other technical platform and application support groups.
• Familiar with ITIL or similar framework – this is a highly audited highly regulated industry where process plays a crucial role in our day-to-day operations.
• Understanding of modern system architecture, including networking, servers and databases.
• Understanding of monitoring and alerting systems and concepts.
• Exceptional problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Strong work ethic, self-starter, ability to work in fast-paced, team-oriented environment.


Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 96,600.00 to 136,550.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
