Establishes long term objectives and guidelines for managing and monitoring cell performance and productivity. Directs scheduling and sequencing of work, as well as production innovation to optimize production. This position manages a large team of both experienced professionals and team leaders in Operations and Manufacturing Engineering. Leads projects and resolves production problems, develops operating plans and budgets, monitors industry trends, and recommends investments to improve the organization's production capabilities. Responsibilities:
- Owns the execution of long-term strategy and the operational direction of the EMS (Electromechanical Sensors) Operations group of Ice, Rain and Stall and Video Products.
- Focuses on tactical and operational plans with responsibility for execution of department, including Quality, Output, Headcount, Productivity, Cost, Inventory, OTD, Sales OD, ect.
- Influences functions outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures.
- Manages and ensures all quality related items for the unit or shift are complete and documented so that established quality standards are met.
- Leads cost reduction efforts and process improvements for the unit or shift to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
- Leads scheduling for the unit or shift to ensure that operations run according to established production schedules.
- Leads the sequencing of work, such as build and delivery, for the unit or shift to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of resources.
- Heads materials and logistics problem resolution for the unit or shift to ensure availability of materials and smooth operations.
- Establishes performance objectives and leads cell performance and productivity.
- Leads production innovation, including additive manufacturing, for the unit or shift to enhance production capabilities.
- Partners with customers to understand customer needs and issues and ensure that the customers receive satisfactory standards of
- Evaluates the recommendations of engineers to ensure that they are accurate and consistent with the organization’s short-term production plans.
- Develops and monitors operating budgets for the process engineering unit in order to maximize cost effectiveness and ensure standards are met.
- Monitors industry trends and developments in engineering technology to anticipate changes and review opportunities for improvement.
- Evaluates and recommends investments in equipment, systems, or other assets in order to improve the organization’s production capabilities.
- Establishes the process for identifying opportunities or implementing changes to improve products or reduce costs, using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality standards, product design, materials and parts.
- Directs engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and processes to ensure smooth operations and optimal use of facilities.
- Leads, directs, evaluates, and develops project engineering staff to ensure their work meets established targets and standards.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
- 5+ years in a leadership position in a manufacturing environment.

- 5+ years manufacturing experience within Aerospace Industry
