About The Role:

The Structured Cabling Architect is pivotal in designing and managing the deployment of structured cabling systems for our diverse clientele. This role demands a profound understanding of network infrastructure, expertise in cable management systems, and familiarity with the latest industry benchmarks. The ideal candidate will not only be tasked with generating intricate cabling designs and conducting site evaluations but will also mentor team members, lead projects, and drive innovation in our cabling solutions.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Design sophisticated structured cabling systems, including copper, fiber optic, and wireless infrastructures, tailored to meet client-specific needs.
  • Be aware of trends and solutions in the marketplace from Commscope, Corning, Panduit, and others.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys to ascertain client requirements and site conditions, ensuring designs are customized and optimized.
  • Develop and oversee documentation for all cabling architectures, including diagrams, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Mentor and guide team members, enhancing their technical skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Manage cabling projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and exceed quality standards.
  • Innovate and integrate emerging technologies and industry trends into cabling designs to ensure state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and excellence in delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance assessments and system testing to guarantee the reliability and efficiency of the cabling infrastructures.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting, ensuring superior system performance and client satisfaction.
  • Be experienced at scoping, pricing and developing job estimates (including take-offs and distance variation).
  • Up to 50% travel
  • Complete ongoing security awareness training and comply with company policies to the requirements section
  • Identify and escalate security risks to the appropriate Executive Leadership Team member and actively contribute to remediation efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in structured cabling systems design and implementation.
  • Expertise in industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI) and compliance with local building codes.
  • Proficient in CAD or similar design tools for precise cabling blueprints, or in working with drafters frequently.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with a proven track record of leading projects to successful completion.
  • Certified in structured cabling or related disciplines (e.g., BICSI RCDD) is highly regarded.
  • Exceptional mentorship and leadership abilities, with a passion for developing talent within the team.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to integrate new technologies and methodologies into cabling solutions.

Must be based in the United States.

Pursuant to the NYC Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range in New York City for this position is $120,000- $180,000, OTE (includes base salary plus bonus and/or commission). Compensation in other geographies may vary.
