With our competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, we have the right opportunities to fit your life and launch your career today.The IEOM Data Science Team within Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (AS) is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Principal Data Scientist/Scrum Master Level 3 that specializes in Agile/Scrum. This position is in Clearfield/Roy, Utah. Our team is new to Industrial Engineering Operations Management (IEOM) and will be responsible for Data Science activities. The candidate will need to be a strategic thinker who can apply data science, trend analysis, and machine learning to make well-informed people decisions. The candidate will need to be candid and collaborative in taking on our most difficult analytics projects as well as the process and culture changes that accompany them. The candidate must demonstrate customer support skills, be able to work collaboratively in cross functional team settings and be able to complete assignments with minimal management supervision. In this role, the candidate will oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between IEOM Data Science Team, customers, and leadership. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.Responsibilities:
- Act as deputy for the Data Science Manager.
- Scrum Master/Project Manager to the Data Science team.
- Work closely with Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, etc. to ensure teams are appropriately working tasks in support of dashboards and reportable metrics.
- Translating business questions and identifying and implementing appropriate modeling or analysis techniques.
- Taking projects from initial concept through deployment.
- Creating data visualizations using common tools (Python or R libraries, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Utilizing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to present complex models or analyses to business partners.
- Collaborating with stakeholders, teammates, and business leaders.
- Bachelor's Degree with 4 Years of experience in; Manufacturing, Production, Aeronautics, Information Technology, or Engineering; OR Master's Degree with 3 Years of experience in mentioned fields; OR PhD with 0 years of experience in mentioned fields.
- Experience with Agile methodology.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other (similar) BI software.
- Experience with Python, R, or another scripting language.
- Active in-scope DoD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.
- The ability to obtain Special Program Access.
- Experience in the Aerospace Industry or working on Defense Acquisition programs.
- Experience building training plans.
- Expertise in machine learning, modeling algorithms, or statistics.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools.
- Experience with creating and delivering presentations.
- Experience with Project Management solutions such as Service Now or Azure DevOps (AzDO).
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math).
- Experience with large scale manufacturing application implementations (MES, SAP, and CPLM systems).
