Date Posted:2024-04-02 Country:United States of America Location:HAL02: Aerostructures-Foley 1300 West Fern Ave, Foley, AL, 36535 USA Position Role Type:Onsite Collins Aerospace is looking for a Quality Engineer II to support the manufacture and delivery of some of the most advanced and highly utilized aircraft technology in aviation. You will support deliveries for Boeing and Airbus aircrafts among others. The Quality Engineer II will lead projects and will make highly visible contributions to development, modifications, applications, quality evaluations, control systems, and protocols. This position will be located onsite in Foley, AL, a short drive from Gulf Shores and Pensacola Beach, FL. Relocation assistance is available. Primary Responsibilities:
- Analyze Quality data and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support reduction in DPU, concessions, internal/external escapes, and scrap using RCCA and Continuous Improvement Tools
- Drive Quality Clinics and CAB meetings to support defect reductions.
- Determine and develop quality improvement opportunities by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes
- Fully support Quality Improvement projects/events as either a leader, co-leader, or supporting team member
- Develop sampling plans by applying attribute, variable, and sampling methods
- Create and modify Quality Plans for application to subassemblies and major assemblies
- Supports internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Drive preventive actions and application of mistake proofing into production and quality processes.
- Create and review product FAI’s
- Develop standardization of Quality Assurance process improvement tools and methodologies
- Prepare and present reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data followed by supported recommendations
- Interface with shop floor mechanics and support staff, multiple levels of leadership, as well as customer representatives
- Provide training on Quality topics to shop floor team members as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

- Experience supporting AS9100 Quality Management System requirements (e.g. Non-Conformity Metrics Management, Risk Analysis, Audit support, etc.).
- Experience with 8D, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, and SPC analysis.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI or similar data analytic software's.
- Experience with miliary contracts and requirements.
- Ability to assimilate, analyze, and present data to leaders, customers, and peers.
- Excellent communications skills and ability to interface with internal and external customers as well as all levels of personnel.
- Experience using AS9145 APQP / PPAP core elements (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow Diagrams and Control Plans, etc.).
