Come be a part of our mission!The Engineering & Sciences organization supporting the Navigation and Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) business area at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a SEIT (Systems Engineering Integration & Test) Lead based out of Woodland Hills, CA. The SEIT Lead is responsible for directing the execution of the overall systems engineering, integration, and test (SEIT) effort on the program. The SEIT Lead is also responsible for horizontal and vertical integration across all engineering elements of the program. The SEIT Lead ensures the integrity of engineering processes, and timely development of core engineering work products. The SEIT Lead typically has Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibility, which comprises cost and schedule management for the SEIT work scope. The SEIT Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, System Architect, other engineering team leads, as well as the customer. What You'll get to Do:
- Serve as the cost account manager for the systems engineering (and potentially multiple other organizations) responsibilities
- Plan and execute the core functions and ensure the project team has qualified staff to execute the program core functions
- Plan, execute, and close out program reviews (e.g., SRR, SFR, SDR, PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, peer reviews, Pre-test reviews, Post Test Reviews, Pre-Ship reviews, Physical Configuration Audits (PCAs), Functional Configuration Audits (FCAs), etc.)
- Ensure system technical compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements
- Manage the vertical and horizontal technical integration throughout the product teams and program life-cycle
- Oversee configuration management of the overall Program Baseline
- Serve as the technical interface with the customer
- Serve as the Logistics and Supportability Interface ensuring that all applicable specialty engineering disciplines horizontally integrate across applicable phases of the program lifecycle
- Serve as the primary contact for direct communication with suppliers as well as working with Supply Chain Management
- Collect, manage and report the program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs)
- Manage risk and opportunity and the production of core engineering work products and track the work products and associated program dependencies in the program schedule
- Oversee the establishment and execution of the program lifecycle and work products
- Support the transition of the project to the operations, maintenance, and sustainment stakeholders
- Coordinate between the System Architect, Chief Engineer, Product Team Lead(s), program manager, and customer to ensure the integrity and executability of the program technical baseline
- Align measurement objectives and activities to meet program performance goals and objectives
- Minimum 10% travel to be expected (to customer, supplier, and other Northrop Grumman locations)
- Bachelor's degree with 14 years of experience, a Master's degree with 12 years of experience or a PhD with 9 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related technical fields.
- Risk and Opportunity Management experience
- Knowledge Earned Value Management (EVMS)
- Experience leading technical teams
- Experience in systems development, integration, and test
- Demonstrated great communication skills
- Understanding of DoD systems engineering requirements
- Experience managing large contracts
- Demonstrated Multi-Disciplinary Engineering exposure (Software, Hardware, Electrical) and strong ability to communicate cross functionally
- US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA
- Master's degree or PhD in STEM or technical management
- Knowledge of Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs)
- DO-178 and DO-254 process familiarity
- Experience working with DOORS
- Experience managing contracts of $10M+Active DoD Secret Clearance
