Position Summary: As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the entire project from start to finish. Your extensive knowledge of various engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Refrigeration, Heating, and more, will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of projects. You will have the opportunity to implement new design and production techniques, bringing fresh and patentable ideas to provide us with a competitive edge in the market. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize your extensive engineering knowledge and experience. Your ability to interpret and analyze technical documents, apply advanced mathematical concepts, and use engineering software will be crucial in designing and directing the development of beverage dispensing equipment. Additionally, your understanding of electrical and electronic controls and proficiency in designing fixtures will contribute to the success of our projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and formulate engineering programs and organize project staff according to project requirements.
- Regularly communicate with stakeholders, including members from Technical, Trade Assets, and Marketing.
- Be involved in or assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of the project, based on available assets and project size. This may include technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
- Think outside the box to bring new innovative concepts to the engineering department.
- Review product design to ensure compliance with required performance, sound engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Apply specific understanding of relevant agency approval requirements early in the design process and coordinate application for and compliance with those agency approvals as required.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases related to project assignments.
- Control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget.
- Research and work with vendors, request quotes, and provide recommendations.
- Monitor the Alpha and Beta builds of new equipment, along with field testing.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports.
- Develop, design and execute capital projects to improve Safety, Quality, Line Performance, etc.
- Improve line performance using various continuous improvement methodology
- Manage contractors while working onsite including safety induction and completing safety permits
- Provide technical support to operations
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience as a mechanical engineer or in a related engineering field.
- Experience with manufacturing/production equipment such as, Filler, cappers, palletizers, case packer.
- GMP and FDA knowledge.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and documents, scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Can effectively respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Capable of presenting information effectively to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Proficiency in applying advanced mathematical concepts, such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Can apply mathematical operations to tasks such as frequency distribution, test reliability and validity determination, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
- Proficientcy with Microsoft Office (Excel - Intermediate Level). Competence in engineering software for design and solid modeling, such as AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor a plus.
- Capable of designing and/or directing the design of beverage dispensing equipment from concept to manufacturing. Demonstrates broad knowledge of manufacturing practices for various materials and the ability to integrate standard components into a working system. Can design dispensing equipment, as well as heating and refrigerating subsystems.
- Understanding of electrical and electronic controls sufficient to design or direct the design of those systems. Can write meaningful specifications for their creation.
- Ability to design test fixtures, brazing fixtures, assembly fixtures, and related work instructions for the designed device.
- Highly preferred, but not required, is the ability to build and/or fabricate systems and/or complete stationary or working prototype units as part of the Engineering development process. Ordinary shop skills may be enhanced with additional abilities such as light machining, welding, and brazing.
