This position is for a Functional Homeroom manager who will oversee the day-to-day change management activities at the Space Park/Redondo Beach, CA site. The selected candidate will provide functional homeroom management, assignment management, and technical contributions as part of a team for the Air Systems Integration Organization.Functional Management duties include:
- Lead a team of 10 -12 System Engineers.
- Provide personnel with career development, employee engagement, mentoring and coaching.
- Coordinate with the program for staffing.
- Conducting performance reviews for both mid-year and year-end, goal setting, conducting staff meetings, and 1:1 reviews.
- Evaluating and recommending employees for promotion.
- Working with the team and HR to address personnel concerns.
- Develop and/or execute change request packages and proposal support with responsibility for technical statement of work (SOW), cost and schedule.
- Generate, maintain, and present metrics on production change implementation.
- Oversee functions to ensure complete and comprehensive proposal estimates, schedules and SOW for program leadership approval.
- Coordinate with the customer on issues to meet milestones/delivery dates.
- Manage internal major change boards. Identify action items and manage to closure.
- Provide visibility and change project development and/or execution status to upper management. Provide recommendations to program leadership and the team for any work around to meet critical milestones. Coordinate with program leadership and customer to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Deploy Engineers and support organizations to ensure effective engineering and change management, development, and coordination.
- Position requires proven skill in leading initiatives and the ability to interface with all levels of management and employees.
- Travel will be required minimum 25%.
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience OR a Master's degree with 7 years of related experience OR a PhD with 4 years of related experience.
- Previous leadership experience.
- Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Demonstrated experience with contract change development and execution.
- Master's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 9 years of related experience OR a Master's degree with 7 years of related experience OR a PhD with 4 years of related experience.
- Experience w/ taking top level concepts and translating into detailed plans & execution.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Prior experience with briefing executive level leadership.
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
