Come be a part of our mission.Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a CAD/CAM Engineer to join our team supporting the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC) program. This position would be based in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area.This role conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with circuit designers and/or product line engineers in the design, development, and utilization of software to simulate the characteristics and parameters of integrated systems (IS) components, modules, or complete products under the operating environment. Determines user needs; advises hardware designers on characteristics that affect software systems such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems including integrated graphic analysis. This position does allow for hybrid work 1-2 days a week with 3-4 days a week onsite. Basic Qualifications
- 5 Years of relevant experience with a completed Bachelor's degree; 3 Years of relevant experience with a completed Masters's degree; 0 Years of relevant experience with a completed PhD; An additional 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a completed degree (High School diploma or equivalent is required with additional experience)
- Must have an Active Secret DoD security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Experience with modeling and authoring within computer-aided design software packages such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Experience with the generation and creation of engineering drawings compliant with ASME standards
- Experience with Indentured part list generation and drawing tree levels of indenture
- Experience with establishment and maintaining of a system configuration baseline
- Understanding of mechanical design principles, analysis, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Experience with production lifecycle management systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Solumina, and ARAS
- Ability to perform project engineering-type functions for a small group of engineers (task management, customer interactions, working with program management to address schedules and work scope)
- Ability to present and articulate complex designs to both internal and external customers
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
- Able to focus on the micro and macro details of a complex system of systems
- Bachelors of Science in STEM Field
- Experience working to conclusion design drawings and specifications across the entire product development life cycle
- Experience/knowledge working design verification and verification reporting
- Experience designing and modeling mechanical hardware interfaces (such as mounting bracketry)
- Experience with cable management and cable assembly requirements for RF and fiber optic applications
- Experience with integrated electrical systems setup, testing and issue resolution
- Experience integrating instrumentation (mechanical and electrical) including electrical checkout of sensors and data acquisition hardware
- Knowledge of test design and execution
- Work experience in a government contracting environment
- Experience in USAF/DoD radar systems
- Experience with AGILE, SCRUM, DevOps, etc
