Title: Software Engineer

Location: 7575 Gateway Boulevard, Suite 300, Newark, CA 94560

Duties: Utilize modularity and layering to enable high scalability and maintainability for software applications. Write high-performance computer algorithms and software code for Intelligent Risk Platform suite of SaaS applications. Create software design documents, architecture, sequence, class, and related artifacts. Translate design inputs and requirements into development work items. Assist in providing estimates for levels of effort required to accomplish expected deliverables. Collaborate with fellow engineers, Product Managers, and Quality Assurance engineers to develop multi-tier, multi-layered application frameworks and functional components, following coding best practices, documentation, and design standards. Research new technologies and techniques to support leading-edge development. Provide active contribution to team responsible for design, development, and implementation of critical enterprise-scale applications. Participate and help with integration of architecture solutions, design patterns, technical strategy, and roadmaps. Collaborate and work with technical leads to design and build complex solutions. Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code. Create unit testing and integration tests for each delivered module. Usage of Linux, Java, Scala and the latest advances in database tools. Utilize unique Big Data approach scaling to massive size over time, large-scale distributed data processing technology. Conduct performance tuning, bottleneck analysis, and resource usage monitoring. Design data heavy services, data processing pipelines, and development of scalable AWS/cloud applications using Scala/Spark job.

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field plus two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Database Architect, or in a related position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in an acceptable field as stated above plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as stated above. Must have experience with the following: planning, designing, developing, unit testing, and debugging; providing technical support, including troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving defects in production, UAT, and stage environments; applying knowledge of multithreading concepts, memory management, query processing, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment; working with Core Java, Shell, Spring, DropWizard, Hibernate, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLServer, Apache Tomcat, Git, Bit Bucket, Eclipse, IntelliJ, Maven, and Gradle; working with micro service architectures Restful APIs; using containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes; distributing processing using Spark; and working with AWS/Azure cloud technologies.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $215,197 to $215,197, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
