Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting Engineering driven tasks regarding Lithium Battery pack system development. Product sub-systems including the following but not limited to Battery Systems, Battery Packs, Battery Pack Modules as well as Lithium Chemistry based Cells. Interns will work within a group setting while conducting various design studies, analysis, and test case studies. Internships may require travel to suppliers, customers, or other locations. Interns typically support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support design and development studies of battery pack systems and other related mechanical designs through analysis, design, and testing.
  • Provide technical support on design and manufacturing related matters.
  • Support Design team drawing development to meet internal and external commitments. 
  • Review product validation/verification plans to ensure requirements are met.
  • Support the overview and assessment of product DFMEAs, APQP process, DFM techniques, as well as PPAP principles.
  • Support the coordination of builds for Design Validation and customer requirements including materials compiling, and inventory control.

 

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be actively enrolled in a qualified Bachelors, Masters or equivalent program.
  • Course of study preferred will include a BS or MS degree in either Engineering and or Engineering Technology academic program.
  • Must have transportation to perform an internship assignment at any company worksite.

Skills and Abilities

  • May require CAD familiarity. Fundamental understanding of Design Software could include SolidWorks and or other CAD Design Software systems.
  • Working level comprehension of Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel preferred.

Training Required

  • Internships may be required to attend HV safety training offered by EnerSys as an on-the-job training function.

  • This position will work in an office setting, expect minimal physical demands.
