A Test Engineer takes ownership of testing and ensures that the product is delivered to customers with a high level of quality through applying leading edge testing and quality enhancement processes.

A Test Engineer will have the freedom to plan and execute testing in the way that suits them and the team, within some broad boundaries. They will find the most effective way to reduce risk, with a focus on ensuring the quality of the product is visible. They will maintain active interaction with other stakeholders to ensure that not only is the solution bug free, but additional requirements and needs are explored.

Working with the developers, business analyst, product owner, and engineering team lead, a Test Engineer will be the independent test expert with versatile skills to become a cross-functional team member. As an integral part of the development team, they will lead a variety of tasks which includes manual testing as well as building and maintaining test automation suite.

As part of the wider QA Team, a Test Engineer will share knowledge and contribute to initiatives identified by the business. Continuous learning and improvement will be a key to success in this role, with opportunities for internal development and leadership within the organization.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
• 2-5 years’ testing experience in professional software development environment.
• Tertiary or industry qualified with appropriate certifications.
• 2+ years in an Agile scrum or Kanban environment.
• Strong SQL Skills for querying and validating data
• Experience in data warehouse testing
• Experience with testing web services and APIs.
• Ability to add/update automated functional and regression tests in existing test framework.
• Ability to build, maintain and grow test automation suite, including automated testing of API and Web UI using tools such as C#, Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow, Appium, and GitHub.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve issues in complex challenging environments with a high attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously on time critical tasks and able to progress multiple priorities concurrently
• Contribute to team and quality process and practice improvements
• Experience using defect management and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
