Project Manager Consultant - Trading Execution Services
The Execution Services team is responsible for trade execution across a wide range of products and geographies, with a focus on minimizing trading costs and execution risks, as well as providing market commentary and related content. Working with our partners in technology, we offer you a number of tools to assist in a portfolio manager’s execution process.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, leading, coordinating, and monitoring activities of one or more projects covering various facets of the project life cycle ranging from project initiation to analysis and implementation
Principal Responsibilities
- Collaborate with others to define project scope and objectives, design the governance structure and operating model, develop detailed work plans and deliver other project artifacts as required to drive projects from greenlight to go-live
- Anticipate and identify project issues and risks and recommend mitigations
- Provide regular reporting covering project/program status including major deliverables, risk factors and financials.
Qualifications/Skills Required
- 5+ years relevant work experience
- As a current or former Management Consultant with experience in financial services or in a project management role for a financial services firm
- Familiarity with financial products, institutional trading workflows and trading technology (particularly order management systems)
- Strong experience with data manipulation in any SQL like language. q/KDB experience is a plus, but not required.
- Proficiency with Jira and Agile project management methodologies
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a structured manner
- Experience influencing mid to senior level executives / ability to develop and maintain working relationships across various stakeholders
- Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well versed in project management tools and standard methodologies
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets
- Detail oriented; demonstrate thoroughness and strong ownership of work
- Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others
- Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment – strong sense of urgency
The estimated rate for this position is $750 to $1,650 per day/hour, which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing the rate, we take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role.
