As a Senior Business Development Manager, Air Traffic Communications you will be on a mission to ensure products and capabilities are on the “radar” and in the hands of the customers around the world.  You will identify opportunities within Air Traffic Communications integration and help customers solve problems, upgrade existing systems, and identify new solutions.

You get to sit with the brightest innovators in the world and be a little cynical too. This role is unique because of the vast portfolio it touches. If air traffic is in the discussion, you are touching it! Your work will influence the aviation and air traffic community through working on exciting projects.  Our product portfolio spans a variety of products, from Surveillance, Communications, Automation and Navigation.  

This position is a remote role type with domestic travel expectations up to 50%.

What YOU Will Do:

• You will expand our communications portfolio by 5% in 2024 through working in conjunction with program management and engineering leads, to uncover, pursue and capture new business in the air traffic communication market.
• You will lead cross-functional, cross-enterprise teams
• You will act as the air traffic communications sales lead to understand the product lines and identify solutions for new and existing customers
• You will be exposed to and understand our products and roadmap to instill customer confidence and identify three new areas for market growth.
• You will become an expert in communication products such as SATCOM, UHF/VHF, network, and information management systems
• You will develop and present strategic business growth opportunities that may include market and competitive analysis by ensuring you are current in what is happening in the industry.
• You will prepare and support company profiles on competitors and potential acquisition candidates, including financial analysis.
• You will represent the Air Traffic Solutions group at conferences and trade shows.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience in or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience working in aviation or telecom environments.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

• Prior experience identifying and capturing new business opportunities.
• Proven ability to understand customer’s strategic plans to provide services and solutions.
• Experience working across organizational boundaries.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program.  The Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey.  Over the course of the 14-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return-to-work experience.  Upon completion of the program, based on performance and contributions participants will be eligible for a career at RTX.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
