General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking for an Environmental Engineer for its Jefferson City, MO Location.
 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate environmental and sustainability improvement projects in collaboration with other site resources to fulfill the Hitachi Energy sustainability strategy.  This may include leading a collaborative improvement team.  This may include preparing capital expenditure proposals and project management.
  • Assist with conducting environmental risk assessments and implementing risk reduction strategies. 
  • Perform data analysis to inform the risk assessments, improvement strategies, and justify project approval.
  • Manage contractors that support projects and compliance programs.
  • Lead continual improvement projects related to waste, wastewater, stormwater, DOT/HAZMAT, air (Title V), spill response and other emergency plans.
  • Lead or collaborate on projects to Reduce - Refurbish/Repair - Recycle - Reuse – Rethink.
  • Support the organization in fulfilling legal, Hitachi Energy, Hitachi Group, customer, ISO 14001, and local community requirements.
  • Participate in site strategic planning, goal setting, and monthly review meetings.
  • Assist with remediation at the site.
  • Collaborate and share best practices across the other sites in North America and globally.
  • May require occasional work outside of office hours or on weekends to oversee project work.
  • Backup for the site environmental specialist.

Your Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (i.e. Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Sustainability) and five years of relevant experience.
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Experience with project management and/or project engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience with SAP.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 o ISO 50001.
  • Experience with facilities engineering or maintenance.
