Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a *F-35 Low Observable Survivability Specialist OR *a* F-35 Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist* as a F-35 Supportable Low Observables (SLO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located in* Fort Worth, TX* in support of the F-35 Lightning II Program! This role may be filled at the Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T02) or Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T03) level depending on qualifications below. Candidate will be assigned to the Product Support organization embedded in the F-35 aircraft SLO Repair Development Center. They will be Northrop Grumman’s technical interface and on-site company representative to the customer providing sustaining engineering support, repair and technical data development, design influence and tool/equipment development and evaluation. Candidate also will be expected to resolve issues arising from operations, maintenance, modifications and other logistics and engineering support activities involving aircraft systems including SLO and structures and support equipment within established engineering guidelines. *Job Duties:* * Self-starter, work without direct supervision * Integrate into a high tempo work environment supporting F-35 aircraft operations and maintenance * Influence design concepts and perform maintainability assessments * Evaluate LO materials and repair processes for suitability in field repair environment * Develop/translate engineering source data to repeatable field repairs * Propose material, process, and tooling improvements for engineering, procurement, and government concurrence * Review engineering documents, specifications, drawings and technical data for accuracy and supportability impacts * Develop/Author Maintenance Task Analysis (MTAs), maintenance plans and provide database inputs * Quantify effects of signature degradation and/or maintenance on aircraft availability and sortie generation rates * Accomplish analysis on pending engineering changes and monitor systems performance indicators * Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support F-35 engineering disposition process * Provide engineering and aircraft/equipment maintenance guidance to military/civilian maintainers, depot technicians and engineers * Perform maintainability and repair demonstrations * Provide F-35 operational location on-site support as requested by customer, site manager or program management * Work any shift, weekends, overtime and holidays, if necessary, as well as travel on Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY) to support F-35 program requirements *Basic Qualifications for Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T02):* * Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years aircraft maintenance experience or 0 years with Master's Degree or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree. * Must have an active DOD Secret (or higher) clearance. * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR). *Basic Qualifications for Principal Low Observable Survivability Specialist (T03):* * Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 5 years aircraft maintenance experience or 3 years with Master's Degree or 9 years of experience in lieu of degree. * Must have an active DOD Secret (or higher) clearance. * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR). *Preferred Qualifications:* * F-35 aircraft experience. * Field service or prior military experience. * Experience maintaining/supporting Low Observable (LO) aircraft. * Advanced composite and airframe repair experience. * Previous access to Special Access Programs. * Experience interfacing with diverse teams of contractors, military customers, and depot management. * Working knowledge of engineering tools such as CATIA, VAS, PDM. * Working knowledge of F-35 applications such as QADS, ALIS, CMMS, CRM, JDL. *Salary Range: *$68,800 - $103,200 *Salary Range 2: *$84,600 - $127,000 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
