Collins Aerospace is currently seeking motivated candidates for Systems Engineering II positions to support airborne platforms and ground-based systems across multiple programs.  This opportunity requires individuals who can perform key system lifecycle development activities, including analysis, planning and requirements, system design, integration and systems testing, and verification/validation of mission systems. Candidates should be self-motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a dynamic and growing development team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Requirements capture, decomposition, and traceability

• Architecture and behavioral modeling (physical and logical) at the system and sub-system levels

• Develop and verify test procedures at the system and sub-system levels

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that scope, cost, and schedule meets internal goals and fully satisfies external contractual commitments.

• Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in technical development processes.

• This position may require 10 to 20% travel

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Experience in system level design definition

• Experience creating system, subsystem, and functional requirements including traceability.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) design tools (Enterprise Architect, Cameo, or equivalent) using SysML.

• Experience in system and subsystem level test definition and execution

• Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink) to support trade-off analysis.

• Full lifecycle waterfall or Agile development experience.
