About the team

Core Algorithms Development team is a group of passionate software practitioners working together to create algorithms to optimize supply chains. Ever wonder how the hundreds of parts in your new smart phone come together from different suppliers all over the world? We solve problems like that every day.

 

Our customers have terabytes of data that needs to be analyzed for the largest supply chains imaginable. Our algorithms move the global economy-- in seconds, not hours, or days.

What you will do

As a Manager, you will lead a software development team who create algorithms to solve complex supply chains for multiple industry segments.  You are responsible for the full life cycle of the algorithms your team invents and builds.

Your primary responsibility is the performance and well-being of the people in your team.  Key tasks you will perform include:

  • Effectively manage team members in line with company policy and procedures, including performance management, career development, training, and conflict resolution with effective feedback.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to succeed and achieve their career objectives.
  • Making sound technical decisions to deliver complete solutions for our customers.
  • Removing obstacles for your team by improving software development and work processes and facilitating communication with external stakeholders.
  • Enable learning and knowledge transfer within your team to follow best practices for software engineering, agile delivery, and customer focus.
  • Plan complex projects and software release schedules.
  • Connect with customers, partners, and other stakeholders to deliver quality software on an ongoing basis.
  • Build and promote a positive and effective working environment.
  • Train and integrate new team members and proactively support the continued development of existing team members.
  • Work with leaders from other team at Kinaxis to facilitate success.
  • Shape the future direction of Kinaxis as we move into new markets.
What we are looking for
  • Knowledge of the entire software development lifecycle.
  • Experience in managing teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytic skills.
  • Development with object-oriented languages such as C++.
  • Object Oriented Design patterns and design practices.
  • Experience using Agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Use of common tools including MS Visual Studio, Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence, and SonarQube.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management (Demand Planning, MRP, S&OP, Capacity Planning).
  • Performance management of software developer, software tester, and dev ops roles at all levels.
  • Supporting software-as-a-service (SaaS) products in large scale enterprise environments.
