Ideal candidates will have the ability and flexibility to work 2nd shift (2pm-10pm), 3rd shift (10pm-6am) or work a rotating 12-hour night shifts (6pm-6am).
**Starting wage for this position is $20.64/ hr. + $2.00/ hr. shift differential.**
Job Summary
Completing an initial training period on a day shift for 6-8 weeks may be required even if you were hired for a night shift.
The Production Operator is responsible for leading machine set ups and changeovers, problem-solving, making decisions on machine adjustments, inspecting and packaging finished products to customer specifications. In addition, the production operator will be responsible for operating various coating, finishing, and/or powered industrial vehicles to move inbound and outbound products.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
- Perform routine set-up and change over of machines, making adjustments as needed to process operations accordingly.
- Run orders per product specifications and standard practices. This may include sorting, labeling, and packaging products per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
- Perform tests and check products routinely for multiple characteristics using standard measuring tools, tape measures, etc.
- Understand and implement quality standards and procedures
- Meet production schedules and program production sequences for optimal productivity.
- Follow standard operating procedures and specifications or instructions of higher level technical personnel and monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.
- Maintain production records and logs of equipment and product performance.
- Maintain work area with necessary supplies to complete processes
- Operate heavy equipment necessary to move, load, and ship material and/or finished products throughout the manufacturing environment.
- Support inventory accuracy by completing cycle counts and correct discrepancies to achieve business goals.
- Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility.
- Contribute and participate in team decision making processes including problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience
- Must be able to follow written and oral instruction
- Must prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures
- Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
