ABOUT YOUR ROLE
The successful candidate will ensure that equipment is functioning and operating at top efficiency and quality. This position is a technical role, responsibilities to include equipment start-ups, monitoring / adjusting machine parameters, assisting in changeovers and handling process and equipment issues.  We are looking for candidates aspiring to develop skills in troubleshooting, diagnosis, and corrective action.  This role will need to be continually learning and absorbing knowledge from established/senior process technicians and applying what they learn.
Activities may include, but are not limited to:


⦁    Execution of molds changeovers of machines and setting up injection molds from 500kg to 8,000 kg.
⦁    High knowledge of injection molding machines, setting and start-up.
⦁    High knowledge and effective strategies to solve quality injected part and resin issues.
⦁    Knowledge of injection molding secondary equipments.
⦁    Knowledge and management of  PP, PA66, PA6 resin (Glass fiber charge)
⦁    Perform preventative mold maintenance tasks
⦁    Execution of resin control and setting up for machines according to the production plan
⦁    Operate and maintain all processing and material handling equipment within the plastic extrusion process.
⦁    Monitor meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production specifications.
⦁    Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
⦁    Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste or rework in the process.
⦁    Escalate appropriate information to Team Leader as needed (Process parameters or abnormalities of equipment)
⦁    Document and escalate any malfunctions.
⦁    Document all repairs and work daily.
⦁    Manage external contractors for project and service requirements.
⦁    Observe proper safety guidelines during the performance of all assigned duties and tasks.
⦁    Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self and using all manufacturing equipment.
⦁    Desire to work under quality standard related to mold injection operations.
⦁    Adhere to quality standards and safety standards
⦁    Record daily parameters of the following processes: machine conditions, process parameters, traveling crane check list and secondary equipment in general.
⦁    Keeping record and registrations of current parameters process sheet.
⦁    Regrind processes (runner and/or non-conforming parts)
⦁    Mixing process (regrind % and/or pigments)
⦁    Draining, safe guard and protection of stand-by tools.

⦁    Back up other areas of the production floor, as needed.
⦁    Support to adjust injection & extrusion molding machine processes for minor defects (i.e shorts, flash and etc…)
⦁    Support Start up, shut down, and restart machines per production schedule
⦁    Support perform preventative maintenance tasks
⦁    Support Installs maintain, repair and adjust electrical systems for production equipment.
⦁    Perform general housekeeping within the department/group and assist other areas as required (5’S)


 

 


Qualifications

⦁    High school diploma required.  
Preferred candidate will have additional targeted technical education in plastics materials or in manufacturing machine processing
⦁    Ability to operate traveling crane and to operate lift truck and its rules.
⦁    Basic Knowledge on Injection machine procedures such as turn on/off, emergency stop and clamping adjustment.
⦁    Basic experience on injection mold maintenance (cleaning and grease mold faces)
⦁    Basic knowledge on installation and operation of secondary equipment such as: Hoot runner, temperature controls, chiller system etc.
⦁    Basic knowledge on servo-robot manipulation and its safe use.
⦁    Basic skills on installation in/out hoses for cooling system in molds and manifolds.
⦁    Problem-solving and analytical skills are a plus.
