Hitachi Energy India Development Centre (IDC) is a research and development facility with around 500 R&D engineers, specialists, and experts, who focus on creating and sustaining digital solutions, new products and technology. This includes product integration, testing, cybersecurity, and certification.  The India Development Centre is situated in Chennai and Bangalore. IDC collaborates with the R&D and Research centers of Hitachi Energy, which are spread across more than 15 locations throughout 12 countries. In the past 20 years, IDC has secured more than 200 international papers and 150+ patents.

Hitachi Energy is looking to expand the R&D teams, with engineers, managers, who can take the technology to the next level. “IN-MACH,” Chennai, India is one of the R&D centers globally, for HVDC MACH Control Platform, performing Software Development, Product Developments, Testing and Cybersecurity activities. The below position is for the Chennai, India, location.

Your Responsibilities:

• Development of Gateway Station product, with new functionalities, enhancements, defects fixing, followed by maintenance, release and post release support. Understanding the requirements.

• As per customer specifications / needs discuss with product management, architects analyze & plan the requirements for implementation Implement, as per the processes & guideline

• Prepare test environments for testing. Write test cases / scenarios. Execute test cases & generate test reports.

• Release the product / software support the project teams for implementation, setting up, as needed.

Your Background:

• 2 to 4 years of experience.

• Graduate in engineering – Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation

• Two to four years of experience in product development, with, good awareness / hands-on experience in protocols like IEC61850, IEC101, IEC104, Modbus, DNP3 etc

• Good awareness / hands-on experience in protocols like IEC61850, IEC101, IEC104, Modbus, DNP3 etc.

• Exposure / awareness on databases like SQL.

• Any exposure / commissioning exposure to SCADA systems, Gateway Stations, protocol converters shall be an added advantage.

• Understanding of cybersecurity / infrastructure concepts – Networks, Switches & Routers, firewalls, images, backup and restoration, is also valuable.

• Awareness of Agile / Scrum or SAFe processes.

• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
