POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Supervisor assures consistent quality assurance practices by applying established standards, conducting testing procedures, and validating processes

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and enforce corporate quality assurance programs, standards, and goals in conjunction with outside

  • laboratories and contractors as needed.   

  • Manage corporate HACCP, HARPC, Organic, Recall/Withdrawal, SSOP, SQF, and GMP Programs including all prerequisites.

  • Act as a facility SQF Practitioner to ensure plant is SQF audit ready every day.

  • Maintain SQF program and train associates to meet required code.

  • Manage all third-party audits and any regulatory inspections including FDA, State Health, County Health.

  • Manage raw material program (including water) to ensure all raw materials meet specification for quality and safety.

  • Maintain environmental sampling program to seek out potential risk, find and eliminate risk, according to policy.

  • Record, review and maintain all data obtained during quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.

  • Oversee all activities in the laboratory, ensure good laboratory practices and administer testing procedures.

  • Utilize laboratory database to monitor and trend results to ensure products meet specification.

  • Review complaint data and investigate consumer product inquiries as needed.

  • Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities and make recommendations to management regarding changes.

  • Coordinate the shipment of product samples or ingredients to outside labs as requested.

  • Inform management of significant issues or trends identified during quality assurance activities and third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.

  • Prepare and present quality related information to management as needed or requested.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of government and industry regulatory & quality assurance codes and standards.

  • Act as liaison between quality auditors and regulatory inspectors.  Ensure execution of corrective action plans with for quality and sanitation standards. 

  • Uphold and manage team participation in all Corporate Responsibility programs including recycling, social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Quality.

  • This position has responsibilities related to Food Safety

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in biology, Food Science, or Chemistry.
  • Applicants must have two to four years of Quality experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and MS Office Suite.
