As a Hardware Engineer, you will take a critical role in developing hardware systems for AR and its New Technology Initiatives. You will become part of a team exploring developing concepts through prototyping and into mass-production consumer electronics. You will work as part of a cross functional team requiring collaboration and curiosity in domains other than electrical engineering. Our ideal candidate has strong electrical engineering fundamentals, HW & FW debugging skills, and communication skills. This role is field personnel.

Hardware Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Perform AR products bring up, debug, troubleshooting from factory and APAC engineering lab.
  • On-site support manufacturing (SMT and FATP) build. Failure mode analysis, root cause diagnosis, and system-level problem solving across the various project phases.
  • Describe complex features and/or systems in detail and are able to communicate technical information effectively with global teams.
  • Work with internal cross functional teams to establish HW and SW system integration and design analysis.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or above degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field with proven experience of EE fundamentals.
  • 8+ years of electrical design or testing experience.
  • Script/code (python/C/C++/C#/etc.) to support HW failure analysis and data collection.
  • Experience in using Cadence OrCAD, Altium or equivalent.
  • Experience with use of oscilloscopes/high speed digital test equipment/logic analyzers, or function generators.
  • Effective communication, collaboration and partnership with colleagues, cross-functional partners in dynamic and evolving development environments.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with embedded Linux, Kernel, Yocto, Buildroot, etc.
  • Experience integrating novel algorithms into either an RTOS-based or bare metal system.
  • Experience with design and programming in python, C or C++ for development, debugging, testing and performance analysis
  • Experience with FW/SW troubleshooting
  • Experience with electrical and ESD risks and mitigation techniques.
  • Experience with analog/mixed signal IC design, fabrication, and validation process.
  • Experience with Android system, be able to capture SOC/MCU log, reading code and cowork with SW team for failure analysis.
