General Information:
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Design Engineer for its Alamo, TN location.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, development, test, installation, and service while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, Bill of Materials, and other pertinent information.
- Prepare specifications and related documents according to requirements, established formats, and general instructions. Review and analyze various engineering data, documents, and reports.
- Consult with other engineering groups to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate.
- Investigate technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
- General concentration of activities by allocating close to 40% of the time to customer focus and commercial orders, about 30% to product care, and 30% to operational troubleshooting and field support.
- Assist senior Engineers in preparing drawings/specifications, material and design selection, quotations, licensing and safety documents, and obtaining required approvals.
- Using state-of-the-art CAD, develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype, production, and retrofit builds as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.
- Ability to learn basic numerical tolerance calculations and stack-up analysis.

Your Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field and 2 to 5 or more years of experience; alternatively, a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- Working experience with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software is highly desired but not required.
- Working experience with Windchill data management or any PLM software is highly desired but not required.
- Preferably, they have some experience developing electromechanical products (preferably with power transformer components), which is highly desired but not required.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, engineering principles, and best practices.
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
