Autodesk is helping Public Sector organizations to transform how they plan, design, construct and operate the physical infrastructures that they are responsible for such as the buildings, roads and facilities. This infrastructure is vitally important to delivering citizen services and achieving positive economic and social outcomes. However, Public Sector organizations face increasing pressures from growing demand for citizen services, changing citizen expectations and an urgent need to decarbonize. Autodesk provides innovative solutions to help Public Sector organizations to unlock efficiencies across the full asset lifecycle of their physical infrastructure and achieve net-zero targets through increased collaboration, workflow digitization, data insights and digital twin capabilities.
To support Autodesk’s progress, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Public Sector Sales Head to lead our sales team and drive business growth within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in selling software solutions to government entities, a deep understanding of Govt/public sector procurement processes, and a passion for delivering value through technology.
Responsibilities
Sales Leadership - Lead and manage the Govt/public sector sales team, setting clear goals and expectations, providing coaching and mentorship, and ensuring high performance
Strategic Planning - Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets, focusing on expanding market share in the Govt/public sector
Business Development - Identify and pursue new business opportunities within federal, state, and local government agencies, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders
Account Management - Oversee key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, retention, and the identification of upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, Presales, Channel, and customer success teams to align sales strategies with product offerings and market needs
Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes that may impact sales strategies and client needs
Reporting and Analysis: - Monitor sales metrics and performance, providing regular reports to senior management and adjusting strategies as needed to achieve targets
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering OR MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus
5 plus years’ experience in sales leadership role, specifically in the Govt/ public sector sales
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and stakeholders
Strong sales process and account planning skills (TAS, Value Based Selling)
Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results and meet or exceed revenue targets
Experience with CRM software and sales analytics tools
Travel 35-40%
