This role is field personnel. As a Failure Analysis Engineer at Oculus, you will play an important role for determining rapid root cause analysis for issues occurred in new product development and reliability test. We emphasize on a collaborative and interdisciplinary approach to solve technical issues. We are looking for an excellent team player. In this role, you will

Failure Analysis Engineer Responsibilities:

• Define failure analysis action plan and perform detailed root cause analysis on technically complex failures from reliability test and NPI
• Cross-correlate data from various techniques to drive towards conclusions
• Prepare clear, logic and professional failure analysis report to help root cause finding
• On-the-ground support at manufacturing partners sites
• Work with external partner labs to supplement lab capability when necessary

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master degree or higher in physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanical engineering, or related field, PhD is preferred
• 2+ years experience in failure analysis, material characterization, or product development
• Hands-on work in one or multiple FA tools, including x-ray imaging (2D X-ray/CT Scan), microscopy, SEM, FTIR, sample preparation, XPS, etc.
• Passion to learn new skills and experience
• This position can have up to 30% domestic/international travel to external labs/manufacturing partner/US headquarter

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a laboratory environment
• Project management skills
• Knowledge in consumer electronics and high volume manufacturing environment
