Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Avionics - Product Trainer or Principal Product Trainer. * to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL* for the Product Support Group. Operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every other Friday off. The position has no opportunity for remote or telework.

This position may be filled by either a Product Trainer or a Principal Product Trainer level based on the qualifications listed.

Description:

The successful candidate needs to be experienced with bomber/special integrated instrument and flight control systems maintenance. The candidate needs to also have experience in Instructional Systems Development (ISD) framework for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating (ADDIE) learning systems. Select appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstration-performance, problem-based learning, student-centered learning, and guided discussion. Support, build, and promote a positive and collaborative culture across all teams. Develop and maintain expert level knowledge. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, as well as strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.

Job Duties:

  • Develops training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials to be employed during procedures-based maintenance training.

  • Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information.

  • Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.

  • Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills.

  • Develop instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based course outlines.

  • Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills-based training requirements.

  • Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g., pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes.

  • Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems.

Basic Qualifications Product Trainer:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with 2 years relevant experience OR Masters Degree with 0 years of experience OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • 2 or more years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an integrated instrument and flight control system maintenance technician. (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).

  • 2 or more years of aircraft avionics maintenance classroom instruction and course development at a Field Training Detachment (special considerations will be given for diverse development experience).

  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

  • Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.

  • Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and Special Program Access.

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with 5 years relevant experience OR Masters Degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR 9 years of experience in lieu of degree.

  • 5 or more years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience as an integrated instrument and flight control system maintenance technician. (special considerations will be given for more diverse experience).

  • 3 or more years of aircraft avionics maintenance classroom instruction and course development at a Field Training Detachment (special considerations will be given for diverse development experience).

  • Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

  • Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards.

  • Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university with 6+ years of experience in courseware development, instruction or industry training content development OR a master’s degree with 1 year of experience in the same OR 7 years of experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.

  • 6 or more years of experience in courseware development, instruction or industry training content development.

  • An Active, In-Scope, DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been granted / renewed within the past 6 years.

  • Special Program Access.

  • A background with F-22, F-35 and/or bomber hydraulic systems.

  • Able to interpret schematic drawings, and technical publications.

  • Experience inspecting, operating, troubleshooting, removing, repairing, overhauling, and installing aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on heavy or fighter airframes.

  • Capable of performing operational tests on aircraft components determining condition, analyzing performance, and isolating malfunctions.

  • Basic understanding of Agile processes.

  • Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies.

Salary Range: $56,600 - $85,000

Salary Range 2: $69,600 - $104,400

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
