    Responsibilities: Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects. Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage. Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Collaborating daily with the software development team to evaluate their progress and assist them with prioritization. Working closely with the Product Manager to track progress against our long-term roadmap. Working closely with User Experience colleagues and other team members to engage with users of Autodesk software frequently, gather feedback on the team’s progress, and translate that feedback into new work. Capturing and summarizing user needs and goals into clear and concise themes, projects, and stories. Investigating, documenting, managing, and prioritizing software defects. Being accountable for the end-to-end delivery of the team’s improvements to software and services. Documenting and communicating the release plan internally and externally to stakeholders. Applying relevant expertise with best practices, software tools and techniques in one or more of these areas:  Mechanical Analysis/Design, Piping Analysis/Design to the decisions and prioritizations of project delivery. Some telecommuting is permitted. 

    Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in an architectural engineering-related occupation. Some telecommuting is permitted. 

    Special Requirements: Position requires at least 4 years of experience in each of the following skills:

    • Experience building design practices using relevant expertise with best practices, software tools and techniques in one or more of these areas:  Mechanical Analysis/Design, Piping Analysis/Design.

    • Experience with strategic & big-picture thinking: creating a definite vision about making design software particularly useful for designing a building.

    • Experience with work breakdown and systems thinking: finding similarities and patterns in different aspects and breaking down larger efforts into more understandable, more manageable, and more approachable chunks.

    • Experience using Strategic realization to understand the holistic aspect of Software Development Strategy.

    • Experience with software engineering workflows and processes.

    • Experience with user research techniques:  interviewing, prioritization exercises and/or survey creation.

    • Experience with project and program management: guiding and tracking larger efforts until they have been completed to expectations. 

    • Experience consulting with other experts and providing concrete examples of adapting opinions and plans in response to feedback and advice.

    Salary transparency  

    Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $146,200 - $180,000/year. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
