We are currently seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join the Multi-Function Radio Frequency System (MFRFS) Systems Engineering team in McKinney, TX. The MFRFS program is primarily an Army funded program specializing in the creation of compact stationary and on-the-move ground-based radars, with search and track capabilities of a variety of ground and airborne targets. These technologies are paramount for early-warning systems, missile defense, and offensive countermeasures that help keep the warfighter safe. This job assignment will be with the algorithm’s development / modes team on the MFRFS program.
You will be a member of a highly visible team of engineers supporting systems engineering, algorithm development, and test data analysis expertise for the radar systems program. You will regularly interface with the Software, Systems Integration and Test teams to ensure that proper design algorithms are implemented properly. The Engineer will also routinely interface with customers from the US ARMY and US NAVY.
You will also be part of a larger Raytheon team within the Systems Engineering Directorate, which provides, develops, and maintains high fidelity performance simulations, executes system performance analysis (including pre-flight prediction, post flight matching, and verification and validation), aids new business initiatives and develops & implements technology roadmaps.
This is an Onsite role in McKinney, Texas.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- You will develop algorithms for automatic classification and Non-Cooperative Target Recognition (NCTR)
- You will develop algorithms for pre-screening image quality and for gauging worthiness of feature extraction
- You will develop complex radar processing modes
- You will develop models to gauge performance of developed modes
- You will conduct detailed radar signal processing analysis to find and fix any issues seen from current fielded systems
- You will develop Monte-Carlo based radar simulations as well as real-time Hardware in the Loop simulations
- You will create automated regression tests and scripts
- You will interface with the Software team to ensure developed algorithms are implemented properly
- You will document progress made in terms of simulation and modes enhancements
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and eight (8) years or more of documented work and/or academic experience in the following areas:
- Experience programming in Matlab, C, and/or C++
- Experience in radar or digital signal processing and developing signal processing models
- Experience in Kalman Tracking, Neural Networks, Radar Performance Tracking or other signal processing concepts
- Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Value:
