Introduction to team

Our Corporate Functions are made up of teams that support Expedia Group, including Employee Communications, Finance, Legal, People Team, Inclusion and Diversity, and Global Social Impact and Sustainability.

As part of the Global Communication team, the Senior Social Media Specialist role will support the team's objective of building a best-in-class global social media presence. This position will manage content campaign planning and strategies, development of the monthly content and creator calendars and creation across multiple social platforms - with the goal of ensuring social metrics are achieved alongside business objectives. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and execute social media content strategy and guidelines for storytelling that delights our audiences, with a global lens
  • Create comprehensive strategic social content briefs to deliver clear guidelines for campaigns and communication priorities for internal and external resources
  • Serve as a key social media expert, advising and educate stakeholders on best practices in creative content development for social media
  • Lead efforts to identify, engage, and recruit creators who align with brand values and resonate with our audience, working in close partnership with cross-functional teams
  • Manage and maintain global creator program growth and maintain monthly content calendar
  • Track social media creator production budgets, ensure budgeted resources match priorities and are utilized efficiently
  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for creator content in support of goals and efficiency
  • Analyze social media performance metrics and leverage insights from social listening tools to make data-informed recommendations
  • Implement holistic vision for social media’s role in amplifying Expedia brand ID and messaging aligned to business goals
  • Champion brand visual identity and tone of voice across social platforms, ensuring consistency quality globally
  • Stay up-to-date on pop-culture, social media trends, and identify opportunities to leverage emerging platforms, features and content formats.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners to deliver on shared goals and build relationships
  • Cultivate and manage relationships external platform partners, agencies and creators who support our social media efforts
  • Foster a collaborative and creative, and inclusive environment across the team

Experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a proven track record of success in a content strategist role
  • Experience in working on a global team with demonstrated experience across multiple regions preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms and best practices, including paid boosting advertising strategies, and campaign and community management
  • Strategic and creative thinking. Able to source out-of-the-box ideas and creator partnerships
  • Strong understanding of social media analytics and reporting tools, with the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies
  • Familiarity with tools like Sprinklr, Microsoft SharePoint, and Keynote a plus
  • Inherent understanding of Internet culture, social demographics, how to build community, and know how to show up on social in an authentic way
  • Passion for travel and the tourism industry, with a keen understanding of regional and local market social landscapes
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Can overcome roadblocks and take a solution-oriented approach when met with a challenge
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute complex plans
  • Experience with influencer marketing, particularly within the travel industry a plus

The total cash range for this position in West Hollywood is $82,500.00 to $115,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $132,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
