We are seeking Product Definition Engineers to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join Engineering Support to Operation (ESTO)

Product Definition/Design team to work on Product definition of Aero engine components in support to manufacturing Quality Notifications (QNs), Model Based Definition, Manufacture, and Inspection (MB-DMI).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creation of UG NX models of Aero engine components
  • Creation of 2D/3D/PMI drawings of components
  • Support to manufacturing Quality Notification (QNs)
  • Creation of best practices document for many MBD topics
  • Create, manage models and assembly in Team Center
  • Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware.
  • Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner.
  • Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes.
  • Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.

 

Skills Required

  • Experienced in Siemens tools such as NX, Team Center
  • Latest GD&T and its application on CAD models
  • ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 – 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards.
  • Experience in handling Quality Notification/Concessions/Technical Variance etc
  • Experience in Tolerance stack-up
  • Experienced in digital annotation of product information crucial to manufacturing and inspection.
  • Application of PMI on CAD models using latest GD&T, ASME and other industry standards
  • Source authority derivative file (such as 3D pdf, STEP, QIF, JT etc) management including generation, validation, checking and resolving errors.
  • Communication of work completed via documentation, presentation to P&W SME’s, Chiefs, Fellows and leadership.
  • GD&T ASME Professional Certificate
  • Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 4-8 years of work experience (or)
  • Master’s degree with any specialization in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with minimum of 3-6 years of work experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of software tools such as Anark, Elysium, CADIQ, CAPVIDIA MBDVidia
  • High proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired.
  • Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
  • Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.
  • Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.
  • Proficiency in analysis tools such as ANSYS and workbench.
  • Automated design optimization skills are a plus.
  • Broad understanding of hardware, drawings and manufacturing methods.
  • Green/Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Travel up to 10%
