    Position Overview:

    The Operational Risk Policy and Standards Architect is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining operational risk management policies and standards that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This role is a Director level focused on collaborating with various departments to identify, assess, control operational risks, and ensure the policies and standards meet regulatory requirements effectively.     Our Impact:

    The Operational Risk & Shared Services (ORSS) department develops enterprise policies and standards and oversees the enterprise risk methodology. The department is responsible for operational risk programs and operational risks, inclusive of information, technology, third party, and resiliency risks. The policies and standards support the operational risk infrastructure.

    Your Impact:

    This individual will lead the policy design and development for Operational Risk Shared Service teams within ERM. You will be responsible for:

    Policy and Standard Design and Development
    • Create and/or refine policy and standard documents to address organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure policies and standards are clear, concise, and easily understood by all relevant partners.
    • Collaborate with key domain experts to develop guidelines to address emerging trends and/or challenges, as needed.
    Strategic Planning
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align policy and standard architecture with the overall business strategy.
    • Conduct regular policy and standard reviews and updates to reflect changes in the operational environment and regulatory landscape.
    • Engage with risk assessment leads and scenario design analysts to anticipate policy and standard impacts and make data-driven recommendations.
    Engagement
    • Work closely with internal partners, including legal, compliance and operational risk domain teams, to gather input and ensure policies are effective, consistent and align to enterprise risk frameworks.
    • Engage with external customers, such as regulators and industry groups, to stay informed about potential policy and standard changes and industry best practices.
    Policy Implementation
    • Collaborate with Compliance Enterprise Policy team to oversee the rollout of new policies and procedures.
    • Partner with Risk Domain or Risk Program Leads to develop proper training and communication to partners.
    • Monitor policy adoption and compliance, and report on any issues or gaps that arise.
    Evaluation and Optimization
    • Review and assess the effectiveness of existing policies, making recommendations for improvement or updates.
    • Design and monitor policy performance metrics and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
    Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain detailed records of policy development processes, changes and compliance statuses.
    • Prepare reports and executive ready materials to communicate policy-related insights and progress.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 12+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: operational or compliance risk management or a related field
    • 4+ years of people management experience
    • Prefer 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following related fields: public policy, business administration or law
    • Solid grasp of operational risk concepts, methodologies and frameworks
    • Experience with influencing others, including at the executive level, and bringing people together towards a common goal
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management, analytical and problem-solving skills, including communicating content of varying levels of complexity
    • Proficiency in policy and standard management
    • Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards

    This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $198,000 - $296,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
