Job Details

The Latin America Public Policy team is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join us as a Public Policy Associate. This role will be pivotal in spearheading regional regulatory initiatives across Latin America. Candidates should have knowledge of Internet policy issues and project management skills. We are looking for candidates with previous experience working at the crossroads of tech and policy with government, international organizations, civil society, tech companies, think tanks, technical community, consulting firms, or related organizations.

Public Policy Manager, Regulatory Responsibilities:
  • Execute cross-functional regional/country-wide strategic initiatives, focused on legislative and product policy priorities
  • Monitor the political and regulatory environment in the region, and identify opportunities to advance policies and regulations that benefit the company and our local communities where we reside
  • Operate internally to land cross-functional work, and ensure that Meta cross-functional partners and internal stakeholders receive timely updates on developments, ensuring key reporting and processes are completed
  • Work internally to obtain general narratives, and adapt them to regional teams’ needs, focused on local policy engagements
  • Propose region or subregion wide strategies for engagement with trade and industry associations, non-profits, international organizations, and civil society groups to advance priorities in the region


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in law, political science, international affairs, or similar
  • 7+ years of experience in public policy, advocacy, or government affairs
  • Experience with the political and legislative process, policymakers, and stakeholders in region
  • Familiarity with regional regulatory frameworks and policy trends in Latin America
  • Experience in strategy and/or project/program management
  • Fluent English
  • Experience working on platform policy issues (such as content moderation, intermediary liability, competition, youth)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in law, political science, international affairs, data science or similar
  • Experience in government or Congress regulatory processes
  • Experience working in the technology industry
  • Experience in partnerships with goverments and international organizations
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
