 General Information:

Hitachi Energy is seeking for a Construction Manager for it's Raleigh, NC location.


Your Responsibilities:

  • Receive tender estimating package from Tendering Team. Field Operations Manager will assign each project. 
  • Review and familiarize yourself with the tender estimate. Ensure all information is in Building Connect. 
  • Review the schedule, look for opportunities to improve the schedule activities. 
  • Build the RFQ packages and work with Subcontracts to submit to contractors for pricing. Follow up with the IFC 
  • drawings from each discipline to ensure the schedule is followed in 
  • order to submit for subcontractor pricing.  
  • Pre-Mobilization Activities. 
  • Mobilization of site facilities-
  • office trailer and porta-John and hand wash. 
  • When to mobilize Site Manager / Installation Manager / Commissioning Team (IM & CM in conjunction with Field 
  • Services and Commissioning Manager) (Operations Manager to confirm person). 
  • Need to confirm power / Internet supply (hot spot vs Starlink), have to check with SOW documents for responsible 
  • party for construction power. 
  • New Project Credentials to Kathleen Boccia (HSE)
  • Safety package by state, PPE package. Intelex, training & certification. 
  • Site Mobilization Checklist completion 
  • ACC Confirmation 
  • That the project is set up in ACC. 
  • That engineering is uploading the drawings and packages. 
  • That the PM has uploaded the customer contract. 
  • That the Subcontracts Team has uploaded the sub-contractor contracts. 
  • Ensure hard copies of the IFC’s are sent to site. 
  • Site Construction Kick Off Meeting. Lead, organize and run. 
  • You are to control all change orders at site, work with SM (SM to keep you informed and copied). Keep an excel spreadsheet (as agreed) with all relevant information on ACC in an agreed upon file system for each project. All emails, all 
  • change requests and all daily 
  • T&M sheets if applicable., for all T&M sigh in sheets and JHA’s shall be kept for back up information. For each change order, meetings 
  • should be conducted (led by CM), Subcontracts and PM to go over  
  • drawings, scope of work and contract to ensure that the change is 
  • valid, but also each item in the cost is validated before approving / rejecting. 
  • Ensure that the SM is having the subcontractors completing the ITP documentation and ensure that this is discussed and documented on each weekly meeting. This includes all red lines, hard copies and ACC uploads.  
  • Regular follow ups with each SM (one on one team’s call), timeline can vary depending on site manager, project complexity and stage of construction. 
  • Support site manager for all activities as needed. Extra attention may be needed if you see they are struggling. 
  • Support PM as needed, ensure they are up to date with all change orders and are aware of any upcoming change orders. 
  • Need to complete the Hitachi Site Management Certification Program. 
  • Join the weekly construction meetings with the SM and contractor to ensure that they are being followed and if anything is not being completed in a timely manner, ensure that the person responsible 
  • (Owner, contractor or Hitachi) is contacted and given a timeline to answer. 
  • Site Visits as required.
