Director Finance, Record-To-Report Global Process Leader

The Director, Record-To-Report Global Process Leader, responsible for the modernization of business processes related to General Ledger Accounting, Financial Close, Consolidation, Financial Reconciliations, and GAAP Reporting. The role will report to that Financial Strategy and Solution running a Finance Modernization program for Expedia. The Record-To-Report Global Process Leader will be responsible for understanding the impact of capabilities unlocked by the Expedia Group Travel Platform and designing future state, policies, business processes, and reporting that help modernizes Expedia Groups its Accounting Function.

Additionally, this role is accountable for multiple process improvement and simplification outcomes across various functional areas and engages with stakeholders across Expedia Group, including Global Accounting, Consolidation, Tax, Treasury, and E4B.

In this role you will:

  • ·Business Partnership: Partner with Senior Business, product & Technology leaders to create process improvement strategies that support the objectives of their functions. Understand the business's value drivers and ensure solutions are scalable and can expand to support new capabilities and business models enabled by the Expedia Travel Platform.

  • Domain Expertise: Partner with senior leadership to create a technology strategy that optimizes operational processes and drives cost efficiencies across the Global Financial Reporting Function. Provides insight into RTR business processes that advance user adoption, improve customer satisfaction, and simplify financial oversight.

  • Responsible for developing in-depth process expertise in Record-to-Report and a foundational understanding of Bookings-to-Cash, Procure-to-pay, Hire-to-retire, FP&A Tax & Treasury processes

  • Lead the future state process design that includes designing a new Chart of Accounts redesign, simplifying the legal structure, legal consolidation, and intercompany accounting

  • Lead the creation of a continuous financial close and develop a road map and a comprehensive execution plan in partnership with the technology team

  • Replace static, manual analysis used to support reserves and provisions with dashboards and trend analysis that help make informed decision-making

  • Minimize Reclass entries and manual Journals, and automate manual SOX controls

  • Elimination of the root cause behind data factories within global accounting through the design and implementation of dashboards and transactional reconciliation processes reconciliation

Experience and qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent with relevant work experience.

  • 15+ years of relevant Finance and/or accounting experience required 10+ years of progressive managerial experience required

  • 10-15 years of advanced Finance Transformation and Consulting experience preferred

  • Sigma/Lean knowledge or Process Design Experience

  • Ability to identify and source Finance automation and transformation opportunities

  • Understanding of process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Experience with Finance relevant leading / emerging technologies

  • Ability to drive benefit realization from Finance process and technology optimization

  • Ability to build effective internal relationships and communicate with all levels of management

  • Ability to establish a strong and consistent partnership between Finance, Product, and IT across groups in the organization

  • Ability to assess process efficiency and provide direction for process improvement initiatives

  • Ability to manage leaders and develop talent in alignment with enterprise goals and priorities

  • Ability to think strategically to analyze, problem solve, and drive decision-making

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $221,000.00 to $309,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $353,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
