Responsibilities:
The Chief of Staff to the Chief Risk & Resiliency Officer (CRO) will play a critical role in supporting the CRO in managing and overseeing the risk management functions of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor to the CRO, facilitating communication and collaboration across the risk management team and other departments.
Communications: Coordinate development of, and create unique content for, a wide range of materials (e.g., presentation slides, scripts, memos, etc.) to support the CRO, including Board, town hall, offsite and other internal and external presentations (as needed); ensure optimal information, efficient review and approval flows.
Projects & Initiatives: Provide senior-level project management support for a wide range and breadth of key initiatives across Risk as jointly agreed with the CRO. Own and execute on a wide range of strategic and operational projects and initiatives, develop and maintain an inventory of prioritized strategic initiatives most relevant and critical to the long-term success of the Risk organization, exercising appropriate discretion on confidential and time sensitive matters that may require quick turnaround. Ensure alignment among stakeholders to deliver projects.
Senior Leadership Team and Meetings: Facilitate regular internal team and stakeholder communications by managing weekly Risk senior leadership team meetings and other meetings as directed; recommend agenda items; manage coordination of materials (including the creation of original content / work where needed); coordinate follow-up with stakeholders to ensure execution of agreed-upon actions and effective flow of relevant information across the Risk organization.
Operations & Efficiency: Selectively serve as the central point of contact and coordination for operational, organizational and control matters that require the CRO’s involvement. Maximize team efficiency via budget control, deploy and effectively leverage technology, standard processes, manage external consultancies and information resources; identify and creatively address roadblocks or inefficiencies. Work closely with CRO's Executive Assistant on CRO's schedule; confirm that CRO's attendance is required at requested meetings and that there is a clear agenda and objectives. Stand in for the CRO as appropriate and provide relevant updates. Identify, elevate and ensure CRO awareness of key emerging issues.
Delivery Against Objectives: Monitor and report on Risk’s progress against key priorities, objectives and milestones. Help the CRO and Risk senior leadership team stay on target by establishing and helping team to focus and deliver on quarterly internal and external priorities, while balancing short-term initiatives.
Accept and understand the variability in the time commitment required for successful execution of the role and the large variety of opportunities and challenges inherent in supporting and advancing the CRO’s agenda.

The team not only seeks to mitigate identified risks but also to prioritize them based on their potential impact and likelihood, enabling organizations to allocate resources efficiently and maintain operational resilience. Through tools such as risk assessments, mitigation strategies, and continuous monitoring, the risk management function at Moody’s helps to minimize losses, safeguard stakeholders' interests, and enhance decision-making processes.

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $160,100- $232,100, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
