Collins Aerospace is looking for an Engineering Business Performance Leader, Associate Director who will have the responsibility to lead the engineering business office focused on functional planning and execution and performance measurement within the engineering organization.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve engineering performance excellence.
  • Lead initiatives to improve engineering processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement within the engineering processes and workflows.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the development and implementation of process improvements.
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure that all engineering projects meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to develop and enforce quality control measures.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions when necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Mentor and coach engineering teams to enhance their skills and knowledge in performance excellence.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the engineering department.
  • Facilitate training programs focused on best practices, process improvement, and quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with product development, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment on goals and objectives.
  • Drive cross-functional projects aimed at improving overall company performance.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering and other departments to resolve issues and ensure project success.
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, areas of improvement, and successes.
  • Prepare and present reports on engineering performance to senior management.
  • Use data-driven insights to guide decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies that could improve engineering performance.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance engineering capabilities.
  • Collaborate and influence at all levels of the organization, including senior and enterprise level leadership. 
  • Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally when circumstances permit
  • Perform other duties as required

What You Must Have

  • Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience
  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an engineering organization
  • Change Management experience
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and methodologies

The salary range for this role is 158,000 USD - 316,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
