This opening for a Contracts Manager is within the Avionics Commercial Service and Support Contracts Department. This role is responsible for contracts with our APAC Airlines customers. This position may, at times, require evening or early morning hours to support customer discussions and limited travel to the Asia-Pacific region and/or domestic travel to support critical business needs. This position is for an experienced contracts professional with knowledge and developed technical expertise in contracts administration, negotiation, and management. Oversees multiple contract negotiations for the organization and guides less experienced individuals on contractual matters.

Although the Avionics production sites are located in Cedar Rapids, IA, Burnsville, MN, and Wilson, NC, the right candidate can support remotely and be located outside of this location/state.

What You Will Do:

  • Drafts, generates, interprets, negotiates, and manages complex contract documents, in accordance with internal and external customer schedules and requests, to ensure these documents properly reflect the business’ objectives
  • Ensures productive relationships with customers throughout the negotiation process
  • Independently supports the proposal manager in coordinating input and approvals from other organizations during the sales campaign process
  • Directs analysis and prepares reports to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters
  • Coaches and guides junior professionals and reviews their work to ensure output is of quality and accordance with business objectives
  • Conducts proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contact activities to ensure contract acquisition, compliance, and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications
  • Manages small-to medium-sized projects
  • Maintains historical legal records l Other duties as necessary for the department

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience with customer facing contracts and negotiations, compliance and different type of agreements (GTAS, Service Agreements, Purchase Agreements, NDAs, MOAs, Bailment, Settlement, etc.)

  • An ability to remain calm under pressure and collaborate with others.
  • Attention to detail and organization.
  • Very responsive with excellent verbal and written communications.
  • Self-motivated and independent working.
  • Ability to support multiple team members and prioritize tasks.
  • Prior experience with commercial contracts and/or the aftermarket business
  • Aerospace industry experience.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles* will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
