Pratt & Whitney has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift engineering lead for the West Palm Beach Geared Turbo Fan (GTF) Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO), supporting PW1100G maintenance and overhaul. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced, dynamic and growing team as the primary 2nd shift point of contact for all technical issues.
What You Will Do:
Technical data review and interpretation
Interface with internal Quality organization to assure process & product integrity including part dispositions and submission of Eagle Net Cases for resolution
Answer technical questions from shop floor and provide technical direction.
Release work instructions to the shop floor and communicate work scope.
Provide engineering carry over report to 1st shift engineering team with clear communication of activity and required follow-on actions
Ensure technical and customer requirements are met through all gates of the engine overhaul process
What You Will Learn:
Research technical issues/questions and resolve systems level issues, coordinate with fleet management directors and operations to implement solutions to improve engine overhaul readiness and on time delivery
Identify process gaps, mitigate risks, and develop training to support business requirements
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience to include a technical role within a manufacturing or aerospace environment, experience interpreting technical data and communicating work changes
Or an Advanced degree in a related field and minimum 6 months of experience to include a technical role within a manufacturing or aerospace environment, experience interpreting technical data and communicating work changes
Or a High School Diploma and an Airframe and Powerplant certification and 9 years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing or aerospace environment, experience interpreting technical data and communicating work changes
Intermediate usage of MS Office (OneDrive, Teams, EXCEL, Access, PowerPoint)
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
Operations, Engineering, or Project leadership experience
Experience communicating in writing and verbally to deliver presentations and technical data to all levels of an organization.
Experience working on manufacturing shop floor
SAP ERP Experience
Solumina Experience
Ability to problem-solve across Process and Customer-related issues independently and creatively
Technical familiarity with engine manuals
Prior experience working independently to achieve business objectives.
Familiarity with GTF engine assembly/disassembly operations
