Mid-Level Wastewater Treatment Operator - $2,500 Sign-on bonus!
SUMMARY:
The Mid-Level Wastewater Treatment Operator responsible for carrying out a wide range of tasks related to the operation, maintenance, monitoring, and control of wastewater facilities. They follow established maintenance procedures to perform various operations and maintenance activities, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the facility. Additionally, they provide ongoing support by implementing preventive maintenance measures and contributing to a predefined maintenance plan.

- Will start on an 8-hour, Monday- Friday day shift schedule and eventually transition to a 12-hour, 2-2-3 day shift schedule
WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:
- Operates, maintains, and repairs water/wastewater plant equipment, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations
- Conducts lab tests, recognizes process control needs, and makes necessary adjustments to meet water quality standards
- Monitors and adjusts flows, operates telemetry systems, and maintains computerized process monitoring equipment
- Performs equipment adjustments, minor repairs, and prepares reports. Enters readings into databases and manages supply inventory
- Assists with complaint resolution, chemical handling, facility maintenance, public relations, training, and other assigned duties
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum Grade 2 Wastewater certified within Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) guidelines required
- If Grade 2, two (2+) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and related facilities preferred
- If Grade 3, three (3+) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants and related facilities preferred
YOU’RE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:
- Transfer operational tasks, develop technical procedures, and provide training to other technical personnel
- Engage in problem-solving for line improvements, safety, and quality issues, utilizing tools like fishbone diagrams and breakdown analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations by reviewing maintenance plans, accurately documenting activities in CMMS, and improving maintenance processes
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously
- Adapt to diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to loud noise, extreme temperatures, and follow safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, handle chemicals safely, and possess physical capabilities for equipment evaluation
- Self-motivated and willing to train others
