Our Connected Aviation Solutions (CAS) group offers an exciting career development opportunity for a Lab Technician to join our Air Traffic Solutions (ATS) team in Marlborough, MA. As a key member of the ATS team, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) while also supporting our existing fielded systems. What You Will Do:

  • You will assist in the efficient operation and management of all associated ATS Labs.

  • You will work closely with the Lab Manager, Program Office, Property Control, and engineering teams to ensure seamless lab operations, compliance with regulations, and continuous improvement of lab procedures.

  • You will provide ongoing lab support, including cleaning and vacuuming labs for audits and assisting with installations.

  •  You will replace equipment, implement SSBs, build and configure hardware racks, update inventory, and install patch panels.

  • You will mentor team members on network configurations and lab procedures.

  • You will set up and configure various network devices, support software tests, and prepare labs for audits.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will learn how to innovate and revolutionize air traffic control by contributing to the next generation of the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS).

  • You will learn advanced strategies in lab management, from handling international shipments to ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards, all within a leading aerospace and defense company.

  • You will learn to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and gain expertise in strategic lab space planning, budget management, and supporting critical aerospace projects with global impact.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Must less than 2 years prior relevant experience working in a lab environment, including hands-on experience with lab equipment, maintenance, and knowledge of compliance and quality assurance standards.

  • Must have prior experience in managing inventory and tracking lab materials.

  • Must be capable of lifting up to 25 lbs, as occasional hands-on management and physical tasks are required to support lab operations.

  • U.S. citizenship is required - Only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under these programs/contracts.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with SAP programs (Prism).

  • Knowledge of and experience with export/import requirements and processes.

  • Familiarity with network configurations and lab procedures.

  • Experience with Lean/Process Improvement initiatives.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
