The Test Equipment Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. Test Equipment products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. Test Equipment has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and sustainment.

Test Equipment is looking for Mechanical Engineer Intern to be responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and maintaining complex test environment systems for all Raytheon products.

This position is 100% on site in Tucson, Arizona.

What You Will Do

• Assist in researching , planning, designing and developing mechanical test systems in areas including, but not limited to, vibration, thermal, hydraulic, radio frequency, and electro-optical for production testing environments
• Assist in integrating and validating test systems against stringent accuracy and reliability requirements
• Assist in evaluate production installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions

Qualifications You Must Have

• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior or Post Grad year by the start of summer 2025.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• 3.0 cumulative GPA desired 
• Completion of 1 internship in a related field 
• Education and/or Experience with CAD solid modeling tools and analysis

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
