Let’s talk about the role

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will - 

  • Assist in resolving issues within our infrastructure and providing sustainable solutions.
  • Work with more experienced engineers to learn best practices in systems engineering, software development, and networking.
  • Participate in projects to help improve the reliability and performance of our infrastructure through better system design.
  • Contribute to a highly automated environment by supporting initiatives that reduce manual tasks and enhance scalability.

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for—these are must-haves, but don’t worry if you’re still building experience:

  • Basic knowledge of Linux systems and a willingness to learn more
  • Some coding experience, with Python or JavaScript being preferred
  • Familiarity with networking concepts like IP addressing and routing protocols
  • Exposure to databases, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, with an interest in learning about performance, replication, and high availability
  • An understanding of system monitoring, whether for applications, networks, or systems
  • A keen eye for detail—accuracy and thoroughness are key
  • Willingness to work one weekend day as part of a 4-day workweek

Now, a bit about the SRE team

Our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is made up of technically skilled engineers responsible for maintaining and improving the reliability, scalability, and performance of the ServiceNow infrastructure. As a Junior SRE, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how to solve technical challenges across the entire technology stack—from hardware to applications.

We focus on improving the platform’s operability by reducing incidents and minimizing downtime. Our team thrives on solving large-scale, complex problems, and we’re committed to mentoring and helping you grow your skills in software development, networking, and systems engineering while delivering better services for our customers.

Note: This position requires the Australian Baseline Security Clearance. If offered employment, you must be willing to complete and successfully pass the adjudication process. Australian citizens currently residing in Australia for at least the past 3 years will be considered.
